Our house was built in 1941. When we purchased the place in 2001, the interior rooms were dark, and the floor lamps we could find never seemed to provide light that was adequate or pleasant. In 2004 we learned of Atlanta Lighting Design, and we asked Shiela Sullins to develop a lighting plan, which we then installed as part of some other upgrades. The result? With good lighting, rooms seem bigger, they seem warmer, and we find it easier to work, read, cook or play games everywhere. We have added rooms and moved walls, but nothing has as much impact
The Hartsfield International Airport project involved two years of preparation. The sculptures and photo murals were assessed with foot prints and photographs from the sculptors, as the lighting had to be installed before the art. The lighting equipment was installed between 9pm and 4am, during a less busy time.
Atlanta Lighting Design was also involved in art installations on the International Concourse.
Barbara Archer Gallery requested the expertise of Atlanta Lighting Design to enhance and illuminate her art gallery just in time for a show featuring the work of Benjamin Jones. Art Lighting is critical in any setting.
Atlanta Lighting Design also designed lighting for the largest private collection of Kandinsky in the world. This collection also included Picasso, Vasarely, and Chihuly.
Other collections inculde Rauchenberg, Rothko, Rodan, Botton, Molthrop and Todd Murphy.
Sheila designed this table lamp around Murano glass found on the island of Murano, Italy.
Custom floor lamps can also be created from various objects of the client’s choosing. We work with a Murano glass company that provides one of a kind art for this purpose.
Outdoor lighting can expand your visual space, enhance artful elements as well as create safety by eliminating glare and blind spots. Lighting is also a crime deterrent when designed properly.
